Japan to provide a loan for the Navoi TPP construction
Many agreements have been signed as part of Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s official visit to Japan. During the talks, the Japanese side confirmed their readiness to allocate loans for a number of projects in Uzbekistan, including the modernization of thermal power plants (TPP).
Japanese Prime Minister Shinzō Abe said at a press briefing that the country will provide yen loans for the construction of a new thermal power plant in Navoi. At the expense of the allocated credit, a third steam-gas plant (Navoi-3) with high energy efficiency will be built under the “Navoi TPP Modernization” program.
In addition, loans will be provided for modernization of other thermal power plants in Uzbekistan, supply of spare parts for the existing steam-gas installations and their technical maintenance. The parties exchanged notes in this regard.
According to Kun.uz correspondent, a joint statement signed by the leaders of the two countries says that Japan also considers allocating a loan for the construction of Navoi-4 TPP.
