President Mirziyoyev holds talks with leaders of major US companies ahead of investment forum

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with a delegation of senior executives from some of the United States' largest corporations ahead of the 5th Tashkent International Investment Forum, stressing Uzbekistan's efforts to attract greater American investment into strategically important sectors of its economy.

The roundtable brought together leaders of key US financial and development institutions, including John Jovanovic, President and Chairman of the Export-Import Bank of the United States (EXIM), Ben Black, Chief Executive Officer of the US International Development Finance Corporation (DFC), and Carolyn Lamm, Chair of the American-Uzbekistan Chamber of Commerce.

Representatives of major US companies, such as Air Products, Cove Capital, Templeton Global Investments, Boeing, 77 Construction, BlackRock, FLS, Visa, JPMorgan, Meta, and GULF, also participated in the discussions.

Opening the meeting, President Mirziyoyev welcomed the growing participation of American businesses in Uzbekistan, noting that direct dialogue with US investors has become a regular feature of bilateral economic engagement in recent years. He said the growing presence of leading US companies reflects increasing confidence in Uzbekistan's reform agenda and investment climate.

Economic cooperation remains one of the key pillars of the strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and the United States. Discussions focused on expanding investment and advancing joint projects in sectors identified as priorities for long-term growth, including critical minerals, energy, metallurgy, finance, artificial intelligence, and digital technologies.

Business leaders highlighted their ongoing activities in Uzbekistan and outlined plans to broaden their presence in the country. They also shared proposals for new projects and initiatives aimed at deepening commercial cooperation and supporting Uzbekistan's economic modernization efforts.

The meeting concluded with the exchange of bilateral agreements and other documents, formalizing several new agreements between Uzbek partners and leading US companies.
