AIMC assures that in Uzbekistan all websites of international human rights organizations are accessible
The Agency for Information and Mass Communications (AIMC) commented on the message of the editor of The Diplomat magazine that the websites of international human rights organizations were blocked in Uzbekistan.
Earlier, the editor of The Diplomat magazine Katie Putz, while in Uzbekistan, wrote on her Twitter page that she could not access the websites of international human rights organizations.
Former Human Rights Watch spokesman Steve Sverdlov said in response that Uzbekistan has limited access to critical human rights web resources.
AIMC experts conducted a study and found that there are no restrictions on access to the above websites.
“Uzbekistan has lifted restrictions on foreign news websites and human rights web resources. We want to remind once again that the information policy of Uzbekistan is aimed at ensuring openness, not at restrictions and prohibitions,” Khikmatilla Ubaydullayev said.
