South Korea voices readiness to allocate $200 thousand each year to support development of energy sector in Uzbekistan
The Energy Ministry of Uzbekistan hosted a meeting with representatives of South Korean companies Korea Energy Agency (KEA) and Korea Industrial Consulting Center (KICC).
During the meeting, the parties noted the successfully implemented joint projects in the energy sector and expressed hope for continued further cooperation.
The Korean side voiced readiness to allocate grant funds at an average of $200 thousand per year starting from 2020 in support of development of the energy sector in Uzbekistan.
The partners from Korea paid special attention to the issue of supporting Uzbekistan in training personnel in the field of energy efficiency.
It was also noted that KICC prepared a promising feasibility study project in the field of energy efficiency, which could become another area of cooperation.
The parties came to the conclusion that it is advisable to develop a memorandum indicating the list of directions and promising projects for further cooperation, which is planned to be signed before February 2020.
