Traffic movement temporarily suspended at Kamchik pass

Traffic movement has been temporarily suspended at the Kamchik pass due to heavy snowfall and possible avalanche danger, the press service of the Ministry of Emergencies reports.

Drivers and passengers who could not cross the pass are accommodated in catering points in the Akhangaran and Angren districts of Tashkent region, as well as in the Pap district of Namangan region.

According to Uzhydromet, on December 21-22, heavy snow is expected in the area of the Kamchik pass (A-373 Tashkent-Osh highway).

Weather forecasters predict fog with a deterioration in visibility of up to 50 m and wind amplification up to 18-23 m/s. A warning of storm has been announced in this regard. Snow drifts and icy conditions are expected on the road.

On December 21-23, avalanche may occur in the mountainous regions of the republic.
