CEC: Over 71 percent of registered voters attended the elections
Elections of deputies to the Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis and local Councils were held today, December 22, in Uzbekistan.
According to data obtained by the Central Election Commission, by 8:00 p.m. local time, 71.1 percent of registered voters attended the elections.
Best attendence was observed in the Republic of Karakalpakstan and Kashkadarya region, where 75,4 percent of voters participated in the political event.
In accordance with Article 96 of the Electoral Code of Uzbekistan, elections are declared invalid if less than 33 percent of voters included in the voters list participated in them.
The results of the Elections of deputies to the Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis will be announced on December 23, during a press briefing which starts at 2 p.m.
