Uzbekistan establishes a visa-free regime for foreigners holding UN passports
The presidential decree “On the establishment of a visa-free regime and simplification of visa regime requirements for foreigners with the UN biometric documents” was adopted.
According to the decree, from January 1, 2020, a 30-day visa-free regime is established for foreign nationals holding Laissez-Passer (red passport) of the United Nations. It applies from the date of entry into Uzbekistan.
The decree also states that:
Visas for foreign nationals with Laissez-Passer (blue passport) of the United Nations will be issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs within 2 working days on the basis of a letter from the inviting party in Uzbekistan;
At the same time, foreign nationals, holding the UN Laissez-Passer (red or blue passport) and visiting Uzbekistan, must have a national passport (travel document), validity of which is not less than the validity of these documents.
