Responsibility for violation of vehicle safety regulations to be strengthened

It is planned to introduce amendments and addenda to the Criminal, Criminal Procedural, Administrative Responsibility Codes of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
According to the bill posted for discussion, the Criminal Code, approved by the Law No. URQ-2012-XII of September 22, 1994, includes the following changes and additions:
In Article 266 (Violation of traffic rules or vehicle safety regulations), Part 1 (When violation of traffic rules or vehicle safety regulations causes moderately serious or serious bodily injury by a person driving the vehicle):
Certain words in the disposition are excluded and the sanction is described in the following wording:
“shall be punished with fine from 50 to 100 base calculating amounts, or community sentence from 360 to 480 hours, or restriction of freedom from 1 to 3 years, or imprisonment up to 3 years”.
Currently, the first part of this Article reads as follows:
When violation of traffic rules or vehicle safety regulations causes moderately serious or serious bodily injury by a person driving the vehicle, he shall be punished with fine up to fifty 50 base calculating amounts or community sentence up to 360 hours or behavioral correction labor up to 3 years.
