Health Minister urges Uzbek citizens not to travel abroad due to coronavirus epidemic
Minister of Health Alisher Shodmanov recommended Uzbek citizens temporarily not to travel abroad, especially to China.
“The complex epidemic of coronavirus is a worldwide concern. The virus has also been identified in developed countries, including Japan, South Korea, Thailand, Vietnam, Singapore, Taiwan, France and the United States.
Uzbekistan is taking all necessary measures against this epidemic. In particular, sanitary-epidemiological and migration control is strengthened at airports and railway stations. There is a medical checkup for citizens returning from China. But this does not mean that it guarantees full safety. Therefore, I advise our citizens not to travel to China, and if necessary, to any other foreign country temporarily,” the Minister of Health said.
In addition, special curing chambers and reserve stock of medicines have been arranged for patients suspected of coronavirus infection in the Scientific Research Institute of Virology, infectious disease clinics in Karakalpakstan, regions of the republic and the city of Tashkent.

According to the latest data, the number of new coronavirus deaths in China has exceeded 80, and the number of infected people has exceeded 2,400. The highest incidence of infection was recorded in Hubei Province and its administrative center Wuhan.
