New procedure for paying stipends at higher education institutions established
The Cabinet of Ministers adopted a resolution that provides for a new procedure for the payment of stipends to university students.
According to the document, from February 1 of the current year, students studying with a state grant, as well as on the basis of tuition fee, are provided with a fixed stipends (with the exception of graduate students studying on the basis of a state grant in the academic year 2019/2020).
In addition, the stipend of students, who completed the semester with excellent marks (gaining 86 points and above), will be increased by 20% compared with the basic amount of stipend.
At the end of the semester, students studying on the basis of a state grant, whose rating points are not satisfactory from 30 percent of academic subjects (gaining less than 71 points), no stipends will be paid in the next semester (except for graduate students studying on the basis of a state grant in the academic year 2019/2020).
