Coronavirus on all continents except for Antarctica. Health Ministry of Uzbekistan asks people to keep calm

On February 28, it was reported that coronavirus cases were detected in Belarus, Lithuania, New Zealand, the Netherlands and Nigeria.

The number of infected remains very high - over 78 thousand people, and 44 deaths were recorded over the past 24 hours.

Recently, some Uzbeks have spread rumors that coronavirus is already in Uzbekistan, and the medical control system cannot record cases of the disease. Many citizens asked for more detailed information.

According to the latest data from the Ministry of Health, the department, in accordance with international health requirements, carries out anti-epidemic measures to prevent the spread of the virus in the country.

Currently, 53 sanitary quarantine points (SQP) operate at the state border to prevent the entry of infectious diseases, including COVID-19, into the country.

“Today, in these SQPs, in accordance with the established standards, more than 250 highly qualified specialists of the sanitary-epidemiological service are working. The creation of a reserve of modern coronavirus testing systems, personal protective equipment, medical equipment and medical supplies for medical personnel continues,” the Ministry of Health reported.

Also, office working 24/7 has been set up under the Ministry of Health and the Agency for Sanitary and Epidemiological Wellbeing.

At the same time, the Ministry of Health emphasized that “this cannot be a reason to be negligent.”

In addition, on February 27, a regular meeting of the emergency commission on combatting the epidemic was held in Tashkent.

“Responsible people were given instructions to review the activities of sanitary and quarantine points established in the airports and railways, as well as in offices created in regions, to work in cooperation with hotels, enterprises, mahallas and internal affairs bodies, to timely inform them of the requirements and recommendations of the state, improvement of medical and patronage services, to check compliance with sanitary rules in preschool educational institutions, schools, higher education institutions and public places”, the Ministry of Health announced.

They also defined the tasks of a full 14-day medical supervision of every citizen who came from countries where coronavirus infection was widespread, and the systematic organization of early detection of influenza, ARI and acute pneumonia by physicians and patronage nurses are being carried out.

At the same time, when high temperature is detected among visiting citizens, special attention is paid to laboratory examinations. In addition, to prevent disease from spreading, the doctors isolate patient and provide medical supervision at home.

Ministry of Health experts urged the population not to panic about the epidemic situation associated with the coronavirus. They asked the people to be vigilant and to stick to hygiene rules.
