Ministry of Health denied rumors about spread of coronavirus in Uzbekistan

The Ministry of Health has denied information about cases of infection with COVID-19 in Uzbekistan.

According to the press service of the ministry, the Sanitary and Epidemiological Wellbeing Agency under the Ministry of Health has developed an action plan to prevent the spread of a new type of coronavirus in the country.

“Information about the coronavirus cases in Uzbekistan has spread on social networks. This is not true. There has not been a single confirmed case of coronavirus in the republic,” the press service said.

In addition, Uzbekistan is taking relevant measures in collaboration with representatives of the World Health Organization (WHO) to prevent the entry of the virus into the country.

It is also known that strict control has been established in 53 sanitary-quarantine points.

On the morning of March 3 in China, where an initial outbreak of the new coronavirus infection was detected, 125 more people got infected. During the day, 31 people died. The total number of deaths since the beginning of the epidemic in China reached 2,943 people.

Outside of China, the virus has been detected in 71 countries. In total, 90,899 people have been infected with COVID-19, 3,116 people died of it, and 48 thousand people got cured.

Major centers of infection outside China are South Korea (4,812 sick and 28 dead), Italy (2,036 sick and 52 dead) and Iran (1,501 sick and 66 dead).
