Sale of large batch of expired drugs prevented in Syrdarya

Syrdarya regional department of State Security Service jointly with the territorial branch of the Prosecutor General’s Office detained U.T. in his home when he attempted to sell medicines that had to be destroyed in accordance with a court decision.

U. T. sold for 15 million 480 thousand soums medicines, which were previously valued at 70 million soums. During the raid of his home, about 500 boxes of 30 different expired medicines were found and confiscated in a procedural manner, UzA reports.

When examining documents for medicines stored in “Sirdaryo Dori Dormon” LLC, demand for medicine destruction was also found, signed by the interrogator of the Syrdarya border customs post and the executor of the Gulistan Bureau of Compulsory Enforcement.

In the course of the inquiry, it was found out that U. T., in conspiracy with the customs post officer and the BCE workers, decided to sell the expired medicines instead of destroying them.

Currently, a criminal case has been opened on this fact and investigative actions are underway.
