SSS detains man for attempting to sell 1.5 hectares of government land for $750,000 in Tashkent region
A 47-year-old resident of Tashkent has been detained in the Yangiyul district of Tashkent region for attempting to illegally sell state reserve land for $750,000. The arrest was confirmed by the State Security Service.
The suspect, born in 1979, allegedly targeted an aspiring entrepreneur looking to establish a business. Gaining the individual's trust, the suspect offered to secure the ownership rights to a 1.5-hectare plot of land currently held in the government reserve. He claimed he could finalize the registration through influential acquaintances working within the architecture and cadaster sectors, demanding $750,000 in exchange for the service.
The illicit deal was intercepted during a joint operational crackdown conducted by the Tashkent Region Department of the State Security Service and the Department for Combating Economic Crimes. Law enforcement officers caught the suspect red-handed as he accepted an advance payment of $20,000.
A criminal case has been initiated against the detained individual, and investigative proceedings are underway.
