Court verdict on Gulnara Karimova announced 

Today, March 18, the Tashkent city criminal court has completed the trial on the case of Gulnara Karimova and her accomplices.

As the press service of the Supreme Court reported, the court sentenced Gulnara Karimova to 13 years and 4 months in prison.

It should be recalled that on January 8, the Tashkent city criminal court began judicial hearings on a criminal case against Gulnara Karimova and a number of other persons.

Earlier, the Prosecutor General’s Office announced the completion of the investigation into the criminal case against Gulnara Karimova and other persons “who, as part of the criminal community, committed crimes related to extortion, embezzlement of budget funds and money laundering in foreign countries”.

The Prosecutor General’s Office said that Gulnara Karimova had organized another criminal group operating at industrial enterprises of the republic, which provided her with a share of criminal proceeds. As a result, she was charged again.
