Health Ministry: 65 coronavirus patients are being treated at regional hospitals

Public Relations Department head of the Ministry of Health Furkat Sanayev provided statistics about coronavirus infection cases in the country.

“Currently, there are 158 cases of coronavirus infection in the country. They are provided with prompt and quality medical care in accordance with international standards and the recommendations of the World Health Organization. Citizens who were in close contact with patients were also immediately found and put under a 14-day quarantine. 73 of the patients are men and 85 are women, with 5 of them being under the age of eighteen.

Most of the patients with coronavirus infection undergo treatment in the capital, and some of them are from the different regions of the country.

In particular, the clinic of the Research Institute of Virology in Tashkent has the largest number of patients in the country – 92; 7 patients there have already recovered and one patient has died. In terms of regions: 73 patients of this clinic are from Tashkent, 2 – from Bukhara, 2 – from Kashkadarya, 2 – from Navoi, 7 – from Samarkand, 1 – from Syrdarya and 5 – from Tashkent region.

The other 66 patients are treated in infectious diseases hospitals in different parts of the country,” Furkat Sanayev said.

Detailed information in terms of the regions is expected in the near future.

It should be noted that cases of coronavirus infection have been reported so far in Tashkent city, Tashkent, Fergana, Namangan, Bukhara, Andijan, Khorezm and Kashkadarya regions.
