“Uzbekistan has a reserve of more than 200,000 test kits for diagnosis of coronavirus” – Nurmat Otabekov
Currently, there are more than 200,000 test kits for detecting coronavirus, Kun.uz correspondent reported citing the Chief Sanitary Inspector Nurmat Otabekov.
“According to the Agency for Sanitary and Epidemiological Wellbeing, there are more than 200,000 stocks of test kits for detecting the COVID-19,” Nurmat Otabekov said at a briefing today.
He said that it is planned to produce 50,000 tests locally by the end of the month.
“According to the Center for Advanced Technologies under the Ministry of Innovative Development, 50,000 tests are expected to be produced locally by the end of April. They must conduct clinical examinations in cooperation with the Agency for Sanitary and Epidemiological Wellbeing and submit a document to the Pharmaceutical Committee,” the Chief Sanitary Inspector noted.
Earlier, Nurmat Otabekov said that mass testing of the population for coronavirus is not planned in Uzbekistan, it is not economically viable.
