“It is bad to see new cases every day, but it is even worse not to detect any” – Alisher Shadmanov on coronavirus
Uzbekistan is working with experts from the United States, the Netherlands, Russia, Germany, Korea and Japan to prevent the spread of coronavirus. This was announced by Minister of Health Alisher Shadmanov.
In his speech on the “Uzbekistan 24” TV channel, Alisher Shadmanov answered a question about the increase in the number of coronavirus infection cases in Uzbekistan over the past 2-3 days.
“According to the laws of epidemiology, if we observe the dynamics of the disease in other countries, the virus will continue to infect, spread and grow. The challenge for any state’s medicine is to prevent a sharp rise in morbidity,” Shadmanov said.
The Minister spoke about the conditions created in Uzbekistan for the diagnosis of coronavirus.
“There are sufficient conditions to make a coronavirus diagnosis. Sufficient PCR devices have been provided. We imported diagnostics from a number of countries.
In any country, if the process of diagnosis is carried out quickly, if patients are isolated, hospitalized and treated, good results can be achieved, the spread of the virus can be prevented,” Shadmanov noted.
He emphasized that inspections have been intensified.
“Today, we have intensified inspections in all quarantine zones. We conducted 4,737 tests in a day and the disease was identified in 76 cases. It is bad to detect new cases, but it could be worse if we do not detect any,” the Health Minister said.
According to him, all the patients are under strict medical control. In addition to the doctor treating each patient, two medical workers – leading specialists from higher education institutions and research centers of the republic – have been assigned to provide patients with quality care.
