“Coronavirus was detected in 20 schoolchildren in Tashkent” – Bahrom Almatov

According to Bahrom Almatov, director of the Republican State Agency for Sanitary and Epidemiological Surveillance, coronavirus was detected in 355 people in Tashkent. Of these, 52 are housewives, 20 – schoolchildren, 12 – youth and 20 – unemployed.

“There are 355 coronavirus patients in Tashkent. In 106 cases, the infection was identified among citizens, who were brought back to our country by charter flights and quarantined. In 175 cases, the patients, who arrived in the country, infected other people. There are also 48 cases in which no transmission of infection has been identified, and we are continuing our epidemiological investigation on this matter. Civilians, specialists from mahallas, law enforcement bodies, family clinics and other agencies are involved in this process.

In Tashkent, 52 housewives, 20 schoolchildren, 12 youth and 20 unemployed have been infected with the coronavirus. We analyze the social background, occupation, age, lifestyle of the mentioned patients, as well as the activities of those who interact with them. The degree of transmission of the disease, the presence of susceptible contingents are being studied, the list of those who are at risk of the disease has been formed, the assessment of their health through medical supervision, as well as laboratory tests, have been organized,” Bahrom Almatov said.

According to him, the highest number of coronavirus infections in Tashkent is observed among people aged 20-29. The number of patients at this age is 88. It is followed by 82 patients aged 30-39.

“If we analyze the 355 infection cases in Tashkent by districts, 68 cases have been registered in Yunusabad, 48 – in Sergeli, 47 – in Almazar, 37 – in Shaykhantakhur, 35 – in Yashnabad, 33 – in Mirzo Ulugbek district, 29 – in Mirabad, 27 – in Uchtepa and 13 – in Yakkasaray,” the director of the agency added.
