A group of Chinese doctors arrive in Uzbekistan to help fight the coronavirus pandemic
A group of experienced Chinese doctors, who participated in treating people infected with the coronavirus, arrived in Uzbekistan to help fight the pandemic. The group includes virologists, epidemiologists, pulmonologists, therapists, surgeons and infectious disease specialists.
“At the initiative of our President, a group of 15 doctors and medical specialists from China arrived in our country. The visit is the result of strong cooperation between the two countries. Chinese specialists will closely assist our medical staff in organizing the control and treatment of COVID-19 in Uzbekistan.
To note, this medical group worked in Nanchang, China (the administrative center of Jiangxi Province), which borders Hubei Province (the epicenter of the coronavirus outbreak) and has the highest number of recovered patients in China.
“The team includes virologists, epidemiologists, pulmonologists, therapists, surgeons and infectious disease specialists. There are experienced doctors from leading clinics among them, who were sent directly to the COVID-19 outbreak center in Wuhan and other cities in Hubei Province in January-February to provide emergency medical care,” the Ministry of Health said in a statement.
Chinese doctors arrived in Uzbekistan with humanitarian aid consisting of necessary medical supplies and medicines sent by the Government of the People’s Republic of China.
