Russia donated Uzbekistan sets of test systems for the detection of coronavirus. This was announced at a briefing on Friday by an official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova.

“In connection with the current situation, in order to assist Uzbekistan, the Russian side sent to the partners free of charge the sets of test systems for diagnosing the virus, which were produced at the Federal Budgetary Institution of Science “GNS VB Vektor” of Rospotrebnadzor,” she said.

According to her, representatives of the Agency for Sanitary and Epidemiological Wellbeing of the Health Ministry of Uzbekistan were invited to meetings of the Council of Heads of authorized bodies in the field of sanitary and epidemiological wellbeing of the people of the EAEU member states on the situation related to the spread of COVID-19 (in the format videoconference meetings) held on January 27, February 10, March 2, 16 and 30 of the current year.

“We are interacting not only with Belarus and Uzbekistan but also with a number of neighboring states. We help and assist our citizens, who are abroad, who need help either in repatriation or in rendering assistance on the spot,” Zakharova added.
