Coronavirus: Death toll reaches 8 in Uzbekistan
A patient who was admitted to the regional infectious diseases hospital on April 19 in critical condition died today at the Tashkent Medical Academy. The number of coronavirus victims in Uzbekistan has now reached 8.
“On April 19 this year, F. (female), a resident of Angren, Tashkent region was admitted to the regional infectious diseases hospital in critical condition. Following the analysis, the patient was diagnosed with COVID-19 coronavirus infection.
After that, she was transferred to the multidisciplinary medical clinic of the Tashkent Medical Academy. The patient had chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, bilateral bronchopneumonia, acute respiratory distress syndrome, secondary hypertension, risk 4, grade 3 obesity. The disease was severe and she was always on artificial respiration during treatment.
The patient’s daily condition was under the control of leading specialists of medical institutions specializing in this field. They have held regular consultations.
However, despite resuscitation procedures performed by specialists in accordance with the established standards, the patient died of acute respiratory distress syndrome, acute respiratory failure and pulmonary heart failure,” the Ministry of Health said.
According to the latest data, the number of coronavirus infection cases in Uzbekistan has reached 1,778, 598 patients have recovered, 8 people died.
