It is planned that citizens, whose houses have suffered serious damage due to a dam breakthrough in the Syrdarya region, will be provided with apartments in multi-story buildings.
In 2020-2021, it is planned to erect 50 multi-story buildings in Sardoba, Akaltyn and Mirzaabad districts, Gazeta.uz informs referring to the press service of the Syrdarya region khokimiyat.
The khokimiyat should compile a list of citizens whose houses were severely damaged by the flood and allocate them free of charge apartments in new multi-story buildings that will be built at the expense of the state budget and other sources of financing, including targeted state funds and loans from international financial institutions to support the budget.
The Ministry of Construction, together with the khokimiyat of the Syrdarya region, must hold a competition among qualified contractors and conclude an agreement with the winners for the construction of multi-story housing within two weeks.
The Ministry of Finance was instructed to transfer 100 billion soums to the budget of the Syrdarya region to eliminate the consequences of the emergency, including financial assistance to the victims and their families. If necessary, the amount may be increased.
The Ministries of Water Resources and Construction were instructed to develop an action plan for restoration of the Sardoba reservoir, prevention of water leakage through the dam and reconstruction of the destroyed part of the reservoir.
