Coronavirus: Death toll reaches 11 in Uzbekistan
A man from the Taylak district of the Samarkand region became the 11th victim of COVID-19 in the country.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Health, on May 9 this year, a man from the Taylak district was placed in the intensive care unit of the Samarkand regional department of the Republican Scientific Center of Emergency Medical Care due to nosebleeds and a worsening of the general condition. After relevant medical tests, the patient was diagnosed with the coronavirus infection.
The man was previously registered in the dispensary with a diagnosis of chronic renal failure and severe anemia.
For eight days, from April 28 to May 5, he underwent treatment and received regular dialysis sessions.
“However, despite the resuscitation procedures performed by specialists in accordance with the general standards, the patient died of acute respiratory and cardiovascular failure,” the report said.
It should be recalled that on April 24 of the current year, the Taylak district of the Samarkand region was completely closed for entry and exit because of the coronavirus.
