Coronavirus: Most new cases detected in people coming from abroad
The majority of new coronavirus infection cases in Uzbekistan are identified in people who came from abroad, says the Deputy Director of the Sanitary and Epidemiological Welfare Agency, Botirkhon Kurbonov.
“Most of the newly diagnosed patients are citizens coming from abroad. In particular, from the confirmed 65 new cases on 13 May, 32 were identified among citizens who came from abroad or drivers of trucks carrying goods over long distances,” he said.
In addition, new cases detected domestically are identified mainly among citizens under quarantine.
As of 12:00, 16 May, the number of cases of coronavirus infection in Uzbekistan is 2,691. 2,158 people have completely recovered, 11 people died.
