Coronavirus cases exceed 3,000 in Uzbekistan, 28 new cases confirmed among general public
According to the Ministry of Health, 39 more people have been diagnosed with the coronavirus infection in Uzbekistan, bringing the total number of cases to 3,006.
“As of 10:00 a.m., May 22, the number of coronavirus infection cases in the country stands at 3,006,” the ministry said in a statement.
Of the confirmed new cases, 5 were detected in quarantined citizens, 6 – in citizens who arrived from abroad (all of them are long-distance truck drivers). 13 cases were confirmed in Samarkand, 15 – in Navoi regions among the general public. All the people who were in contact with them have been quarantined in the prescribed manner.
On May 21, a total of 28 new infection cases were registered, of which 20 were detected among the general public in Tashkent, Samarkand and Navoi regions.
So far, 2,407 citizens have fully recovered from the coronavirus infection, 13 people died.
Currently, 586 patients are undergoing treatment at medical facilities, 4 of them are in critical condition.
