Coronavirus cases reach 3,078 in Uzbekistan
According to the Ministry of Health, 42 more people have been diagnosed with the coronavirus infection in Uzbekistan, bringing the total number of cases to 3,078.
“As of 10:00 a.m., May 23, the number of coronavirus infection cases in the country stands at 3,078,” the ministry said in a statement.
All the confirmed new cases have been identified among citizens arriving from abroad. In particular, the infection was detected in citizens who arrived from St. Petersburg (38 people) and from Tajikistan (2 people) on a charter flight, as well as in 2 long-distance truck drivers entering via Kazakhstan. All of them were placed in quarantine upon arrival.
So far, 2,492 citizens have fully recovered from the coronavirus infection, 13 people died.
Currently, 573 patients are undergoing treatment at medical facilities, 4 of them are in critical condition.
