Illegal expenses worth 142.5 billion soums revealed in budget organizations
At a meeting of the PDPU (People’s Democratic Party of Uzbekistan) fraction in the Lower House of parliament, a report on the implementation of the State Budget program and the budgets of state trust funds in 2019 was reviewed.

As the report showed, out of the state fund allocated for social expenses, 10.3 billion soums remained unused, of the funds allocated for the payment of pensions, benefits, compensations and material assistance – 22.7 billion soums, of the funds allocated for improving the reclamation status of irrigated land, development of public roads and the Aral Sea region – 150.6 billion soums were left unused.
Deputies sharply criticized the fact that a certain part of the budget allocated to the social sphere remains unspent. Particularly, they are outraged by the fact that budget funds allocated for the payment of material assistance and compensation remain unused, which directly indicates the presence of systemic shortcomings in the work to ensure the rights and interests of needy citizens.
In general, deputies criticized the fact that errors and shortcomings in the execution of the state budget have not been resolved for many years, due attention is not paid to resolving the problems of past years.
The report noted that in more than 6.5 thousand of over 8 thousand budgetary organizations, financial errors, omissions and misappropriations, as well as illegal expenses in the amount of 142 billion 592 million soums were revealed. It was emphasized that in order to address such shortcomings, it is necessary to improve the control mechanism.
