Deputy FM Asadov discusses with UK Ambassador practical steps to counteract the spread of COVID-19
On June 4, Deputy Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan Sherzod Asadov held talks with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland Timothy Torlot, via videoconference, the MFA press service said.
The parties exchanged views on the current issues of bilateral cooperation in political, trade-economic, investment and other spheres.
The need for further expanding dialogue between the two countries on a mutually beneficial basis was noted.
Practical steps to counteract the spread of COVID-19 and the fight against its negative social and economic impact were also considered. In this regard, the establishment of regular interaction for exchanging experience between medical professionals of Uzbekistan and the UK was stressed.
The parties also discussed international and regional agenda, paying special attention to the Afghan problem.
