Some users of social media reported that a group of people had severely beaten medical personnel in the Sayhunabad district of the Syrdarya region.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Health, on 4 June, a local medical facility received a call from the Sayhunabad district at 00:14.
One of the residents reported that he had injured his leg, after which the medical assistance brigade arrived at the mahalla “Galaba”.
“The brigade arrived in seven minutes. As soon as they got out of the ambulance, a group of drunken men began to beat them mercilessly for no reason,” the Ministry of Health reports.
As a result, a 28-year-old doctor and a 44-year-old paramedic suffered injuries (concussion). They got necessary medical treatment in the district medical association.
It was also reported that the Minister of Health had requested the Prosecutor General to initiate criminal proceedings under the relevant articles of the Criminal Code against the offenders.
