Coronavirus: Death toll reaches 17 in Uzbekistan

An elderly man who was hospitalized due to a car accident had tested positive for coronavirus infection.

According to the press service of the Ministry of Health, on May 27, a 70-year-old man was taken to the Republican Scientific Center for Emergency Medical Care with an initial diagnosis of a closed head injury after a traffic accident.

He was checked for coronavirus infection due to the appearance of similar symptoms. The results were positive. After that he was hospitalized in a multidisciplinary clinic of the Tashkent Medical Academy to provide specialized medical care.

It is noted that the patient was previously treated for a brain tumor, coronary heart disease, hypertension, hepatitis, pneumonia and chronic heart, kidney and liver failure.

Due to the deterioration of the patient’s condition, the doctors decided to connect him to a ventilator.
