State budget expenditure for 2020 increases by 5.5 trillion soums
State budget expenditure for 2020 has increased from 100.8 trillion to 106.3 trillion soums (+5.5 trillion), writes Sherzod Mukhamedov, Deputy Head of Department at the Ministry of Finance.
To remind, the law “On the State Budget of Uzbekistan for 2020” has undergone changes due to the coronavirus pandemic.
According to Sherzod Mukhamedov, the total budget expenditure had to be changed by more than 3 percent, while the funds allocated to the first-tier budget distributors – by 10 percent.
For example, the creation of the Ministry for Mahalla and Family Affairs requires additional allocation of funds amounting to 7.4 billion soums. In addition, 13.9 billion soums has been earmarked for the offices of the Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade in the UAE and China.
Also, due to the decrease in revenues, the Bureau of Compulsory Enforcement under the Prosecutor General’s Office will receive 172 billion soums to cover the arrears in its construction and reconstruction work.
“As a result of the above-mentioned measures, the state budget expenditure, initially approved as 100.8 trillion soums in the law “On the State Budget of Uzbekistan for 2020”, has increased to 106.3 trillion soums,” Mukhamedov notes.
It was previously reported that the State budget expenditure for the first quarter of 2020 amounted to 27.7 trillion soums (increased by 14.6 percent compared to the same period last year).
