Health Minister of Uzbekistan Alisher Shadmanov had a telephone conversation with the Minister of Health and Welfare of South Korea Park Neung-hoo, the ministerial press service reports.
During the conversation, the parties agreed to develop a mobile application for Uzbekistan to track people who were in contact with coronavirus patients, based on the experience of Korean specialists. It is noted that the application will make it possible to find out what places the infected people had visited prior to hospitalization.
The parties also decided to conduct a joint clinical trial of a vaccine against COVID-19.
It should be reminded that at the end of April, at the initiative of the Ministry of Innovative Development, project managers developed the mobile application “Birga Yengamiz” (“Together we will overcome”) in order to automate the process of identifying who patients have been in contact with.
At that time, a spokesperson for the ministry, Nazokat Abdukunduzova, stated that the application can identify individuals who were in close contact with the patient over the past 14 days.
Scholars at Oxford University note that such applications will only be effective if at least 60% of the population uses it.
