Russia accounted for the largest share, with 474 complaints, followed by China with 198 and Kazakhstan with eight, the Plant Quarantine and Protection Agency said.

Most complaints involved the detection of harmful organisms in exported products. The new inspections will therefore focus on the phytosanitary condition of cargo compartments in vehicles used to transport goods abroad.

The agency urged exporters and carriers to comply strictly with phytosanitary requirements to avoid shipment delays, rejected products and additional restrictions imposed by destination countries.
