“Construction projects were handed over without tenders in 41 cases” – Criminal case opened against officials in Khorezm

The press service of the Prosecutor General’s Office informed Kun.uz about the crimes detected in recent days by the Department for Combating Economic Crimes.

Reportedly, during the pre-investigation check conducted by the Department of the Khorezm region, officials of the engineering company “Yagona Buyurtmachi Xizmati” conducted internal tenders in 41 cases, chaired by the head of the company. They entrusted contractors, who did not have the necessary equipment, financial condition, manpower and other facilities, the construction projects. It was revealed that construction and repair work that has not actually been completed was documented and a total of 2.7 billion soums were looted through the misappropriation of budget funds in 2019-2020.

A criminal case has been filed against the officials of the “Yagona Buyurtmachi Xizmati” engineering company under the relevant Article of the Criminal Code. An investigation is underway.
