“We will decide it based on the development of the situation” – Deputy PM answers questions on possible extension of lockdown
At the session of the International Press Club on the analysis of the epidemiological situation in the country, the Deputy Prime Minister for Social Development, Behzod Musayev, answered the question about the possible extension of lockdown in Uzbekistan.
“The President demanded that the economy should work. Indeed, we have to strictly follow sanitary rules, as this is very important. As to whether the quarantine period will be extended after August 1, we will decide it based on the development of the situation,” he noted.
It was previously reported that a number of businesses were closed in Uzbekistan from July 10 to August 1.
In addition, new lockdown measures, including restrictions on the traffic movement and holding of weddings, have been imposed in the country since July 10 due to the worsening of the epidemic situation.
The lockdown in Uzbekistan itself has been extended until August 1.
