State Statistics Committee: Circulatory diseases caused more death any other disease in January-June
In January-June 2020, 74.6 thousand deaths were registered in Uzbekistan and the mortality rate was 4.4 ppm per 1,000 population.
According to the State Statistics Committee, the number of deaths decreased by 0.1 ppm compared to the corresponding period of 2019 (for January-June 2019 – 4.5 ppm).
Of the total number of registered deaths in January-June 2020, 59.3% patients died from circulatory diseases, 9.5% – from neoplasms, 4.9% – from digestive diseases, 4.8% – from accidents, poisoning and injuries, 4.7% – from respiratory diseases, 1.3% – from infectious and parasitic diseases and 15.5% – from other diseases.
In addition, the number of registered death cases among children under the age of 1 year amounted to 4.1 thousand, of which 52.7% died from conditions arising in the perinatal period, 22.3% – from respiratory diseases, 10.7% – from congenital anomalies, 3.6% – from infectious and parasitic diseases, 1.9% – from accidents, poisoning and injuries, 0.6% – from diseases of the digestive system, 8.2% – from other diseases.
