Misappropriation of almost 70 million soums by mahalla chairman prevented

Criminal proceedings have been instituted against the chairman of the mahalla institution under articles 167 and 209 of the Criminal Code, an investigation is currently ongoing.

Bekabad district department of the prosecutor’s office is conducting the investigation, PGO spokesperson Khayot Shamsutdinov said.

It was noted that the chairman of a mahalla in the Bekabad district received a total of 101.5 million soums as pensions for 26 citizens, but transferred only 31.6 million soums.

Timely investigations have prevented misappropriation of 69.9 million soums from the budget.

The chairman of the mahalla has been charged under articles 167 and 209 of the Criminal Code.
