Secretary of the Security Council becomes new chairman of Triathlon Federation, Defense Minister heads MMA Association

Earlier it was reported that Otabek Umarov resigned from the leadership of the Triathlon Federation and the MMA Association.

As the press service of the National Olympic Committee reported, on August 14, a joint meeting of the MMA Association of Uzbekistan and the Triathlon Federation was held, where new leaders were elected.

“During the meeting, the Secretary of the Security Council of Uzbekistan Viktor Makhmudov was unanimously elected chairman of the Triathlon Federation, and the Minister of Defense Bakhodir Kurbanov – chairman of the MMA Association,” the statement reads.

Ex-head of sports organizations Otabek Umarov explained his decision with the changes caused by the coronavirus pandemic.
