Interior Minister takes charge of Uzbekistan’s MMA Association
Aziz Tashpulatov has become the new chairman of Uzbekistan’s Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) Association.
According to the press service of the National Olympic Committee of Uzbekistan, the Minister of Internal Affairs, Aziz Tashpulatov, has been elected as the new head of the MMA Association.
Previously, since August 2020, the association had been chaired by the Minister of Defense, Bahodir Kurbanov.
In April this year, Aziz Tashpulatov was also elected chairman of the Uzbekistan Volleyball Federation.
The Mixed Martial Arts Association was established in 2019. Its first chairman, Otabek Umarov, said the organization was created to support fighters who previously had to train and compete solely on their own initiative.
