Ambassador of Uzbekistan hands over his credentials to President of Azerbaijan
Ilham Aliyev accepted the credentials of the newly appointed Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Azerbaijan.
The press service of the President of Azerbaijan reported this.
“On August 18, the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev accepted the credentials of the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uzbekistan Bakhrom Ashrafkhanov,” the official report states.
In April of this year, Bakhrom Ashrafkhanov, former Executive Director of the Off-Budgetary Pension Fund under the Ministry of Finance, was appointed Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Azerbaijan.
Bakhrom Ashrafkhanov worked in the system of the Finance Ministry from 2002 to 2016. In particular, in 2005-2007, he served as First Deputy Minister of Finance and in 2007-2016 – he was the head of the Treasury.
In 2016-2018, he worked as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uzbekistan to the Russian Federation. In September 2018, he was appointed acting chairman of the board of Uzbekneftegaz.
