Two dead, three injured in a fatal accident in Margilan

The accident occurred on the night of August 26 at a bridge located on Hiyobon Street in Margilan, Fergana region.

According to the press office of the Road Traffic Safety Department, the driver of a Cobalt car, 22, lost control over the vehicle at a dangerous turn and ran into the oncoming lane breaking through a concrete fence where he collided with a Spark car.

As a result of the accident, the Cobalt driver died at the scene of the accident, while his 22-year-old passenger died of his injuries in hospital. Spark’s driver, 36, and his two passengers, 46 and 30, were hospitalized with various injuries.

The Investigation Department has initiated criminal proceedings under article 266 of the Criminal Code. The investigation is currently ongoing.
