Restaurants, cafes, amusement parks restoring activities from September 5

The Special Republican Commission has adopted another decision on a program of measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus in Uzbekistan.

According to the Special Commission, despite the easing of lockdown restrictions, certain measures have been taken to limit the spread of coronavirus. In particular, since August 21 this year, the number of new cases of coronavirus infection has fallen sharply below 500 cases per day, whereas the number of recovered has exceeded 39,500 or 93% of the total number of patients.

From September 5, 2020, public catering facilities (restaurants, cafes, kitchens) will be allowed to provide their services. In this case, these facilities are required to comply with the following sanitary requirements:

- Refuse to host banquets and other public events;
- Ensure a social distance of not less than 2 meters between tables;
- Place no more than 4 people (does not apply to family members) around one table;
- Require personnel to wear medical masks and medical gloves;
- Clean the surface of the table and other equipment with disinfectants after a visit of each customer;
- Install decontamination equipment (ultraviolet lamps, etc.) in buildings and rooms, as well as in the air circulation system.

Entertainment and cultural facilities (theater and cinema only) will also be available for visitors. In this case, these facilities are required to:

- Demand visitors to keep social distance and wear a medical mask (if necessary, provide free masks if the event lasts more than 2 hours);
- Equip the entrances and exits of the facilities with pyrometers, disinfectant corridors, antiseptics; measure the body temperature of each visitor at the entrance, and prohibit the entrance of people with a temperature above 37 C or with signs of infection;
- Clean the surface of the seats and other equipment with disinfectant after each session;
- Require personnel to wear medical masks and medical gloves.

Activities of attractions in parks and recreation areas are also being restored. In this case, these facilities are required to:

- Ensure that visitors keep social distance in queues;
- Clean the surface of the attractions with disinfectants every hour or after each use;
- Require maintaining social distance when using the attraction;
- Require personnel to wear medical masks and medical gloves;
- Install decontamination equipment (ultraviolet lamps, etc.) in buildings and rooms, as well as in the air circulation system (for attractions located in buildings).
