Road police inspector run over by a young driver in Tashkent
The incident occurred on the evening of September 1 near the Grand Mir Hotel in the Mirabad district of Tashkent.
According to the Tashkent Central Department of Internal Affairs, Senior Sergeant Salim Umarov, an inspector of the Second Battalion of Road Patrol, stopped the driver of a Captiva car to check his documents. After the inspection, he returned the papers to the driver and moved to the side of the road.
At that time, citizen Temurbek, 19, was driving his Lacetti along Mirabad Street, when he lost control over the vehicle, collided with the Captiva car and ran over the police inspector by inertia.


As a result of the accident, Sergeant Salim Umarov, aged 30, received severe bodily injuries and hospitalized and is currently in the intensive care unit.
Preliminary investigations are ongoing. The materials collected have been transferred to the Prosecutor’s Office for a legal decision.
