Admission exams to universities over in Uzbekistan, results to be announced by September 24

Admission exams were held across the country on September 2-13. About 1.5 million entrants competed for about 140,000 seats in universities.

September 13 was the last day of university admission exams. Below we provide answers to the most frequently asked questions from applicants.

When will the final results be announced?

Entrants were informed of their scores the day after the exam. However, it is not yet possible to find out whether the obtained score is enough for being admitted to the university or not.

It should be noted that a special exam is planned for entrants who had a high temperature on the day of the test. It will be held on September 17.

From September 18, the results will be summarized and sorting will begin.

Then within a week – until September 24, it is planned to announce the final results of the examination, that is, the results of the admission of applicants.

What does an applicant, who is dissatisfied with the result, do?

Applicants dissatisfied with the results of the test have the right to appeal in writing or electronically to the Appeals Commission established under the State Testing Center (STC) within the period set by the State Commission.

STC said it is also working on accepting appeals online.

Appeals will be accepted within 10 days after the completion of the test. The entrant is required to come with his/her passport and the permission paper on the day specified in the notification.

During the appeal process, the applicant is provided with test materials he had had on the exam day. Based on the materials provided, the entrant will check his or her answers to each test assignment that is deemed incorrect.

The appeal is considered by the Appeals Commission only in the presence of the applicant on the basis of his written answers.

If the applicant’s written answers are not confirmed, the Appeals Commission will decide to leave the test results unchanged and to refuse to satisfy the appeal.

In addition, if an applicant fails to notify supervisors in a timely manner about questions that are defective in the test booklet during the exam, his or her claim will not be considered on appeal.

When does the academic year begin for enrolled applicants?

The Ministry of Higher and Secondary Specialized Education has announced that classes for freshmen will begin online from October 2.

But it is still unknown when it will be possible to resume the program in a traditional form. The head of the ministerial press service Farkhod Babashev said there is a possibility that it will be resumed from the second semester.

It should be recalled that this year a 10% tuition discount has been announced for full-time students in the country’s universities.

It was also noted that students in need of social protection will be provided financial assistance in the amount of up to 4 million soums, and more than 4,000 students, who have served in the Armed Forces, will be paid 35% of the tuition fee.
