Uzbekistan’s foreign trade turnover down by nearly 13 percent in Jan-August
Foreign trade turnover of Uzbekistan in January-August 2020 amounted to $24.5 billion, which is $3.5 billion (12.7%) less than in the same period last year.
According to the State Statistics Committee, Uzbekistan has trade relations with more than 160 countries of the world. In the reporting period, the largest volume of foreign trade turnover was recorded with the PRC (16.4%), the Russian Federation (14.6%), Kazakhstan (7.2%), the Republic of Korea (5.9%), Turkey (5%), Kyrgyzstan (2, 3%) and Germany (2%).
In terms of foreign economic activity, the balance of active foreign trade is observed with 4 of the 20 largest trading partners: Afghanistan ($461.8 million), Kyrgyzstan ($394.5 million), Tajikistan ($193.1 million) and Iran ($39.6 million).
In January-August 2020, the share of CIS countries in foreign trade turnover was 29.9%, down by 8.7% compared to 2018.
