Shukhrat Ganiyev to become Deputy Prime Minister
Erstwhile khokim of the Fergana region, Shukhrat Ganiyev, will be appointed Deputy Prime Minister for the Development of Agrarian and Food Sectors. This was announced by PM Abdulla Aripov on September 25 at a meeting in Fergana.
Shukhrat Ganiyev has been serving as khokim of the Fergana region since 2011.


Prior to Ganiyev, Uktam Barnoyev had served as Deputy PM in charge of agricultural and food sectors development. Barnoyev died of coronavirus in Germany.
Also, khokim of the Namangan region Khayrulla Bozorov has been appointed head of the Fergana region.
Earlier, it was reported that Shavkat Abdurazakov, former Chairman of the State Committee for Ecology and Environmental Protection, had been appointed acting khokim of the Namangan region.
