Almost 84,000 births registered in Uzbekistan in August
According to the State Statistics Committee data, in the first 8 months of 2020, 525,280 births were registered in the Civil Registry Offices. This figure is more by 18,912 than in the same period last year.
In August this year, 83,925 births were registered in the country, the highest number of births was recorded in the Samarkand region (9,585).
In January-August 2020, 63,573 children were born in Samarkand, 58,774 – in Fergana 55,774 – in Kashkadarya and 50,601 – in Andijan.
For information, in 1897, the population of the Republic of Uzbekistan was 3.9 million. This is equal to the current population of the Samarkand region (3.9 million people).
