On October 2, a session of the district council of people’s deputies on the exclusion of the Yangikurgan district, Namangan region, from the “red zone” was held. The Chairperson of the Senate of Oliy Majlis Tanzila Narbayeva also took part in it.

Following the event, Tanzila Narbayeva answered questions from journalists. Kun.uz correspondent was interested in the opinion of the Senate Chairperson on the investigation process against Guljahon Yuldasheva, chief physician of the Tashkent Regional Infectious Diseases Hospital, and the precautionary measure chosen against her.

“It’s a very serious matter. Those who have committed serious crimes are also allowed to stay at home with their children and family, provided that they do not leave the house. From this point of view, I cannot assess now whether her crime is serious or not, but given that the woman has small children, it was possible to get by without punishment in the form of arrest. At least, until the court verdict was announced,” Narbayeva said.

Earlier, it was reported that Batir Matmuratov, chairman of the Senate Judiciary and Anti-Corruption Committee, had recommended that the Prosecutor General’s Office should change the measure of restraint against Guljahon Yuldasheva to another precautionary measure, such as bail or house arrest.
