Resident population of the Navoi region has reached one million, the State Statistics Committee says.
As of October 1, the number of permanent residents in the region was recorded at 1,009,300.
Thus, Navoi has entered the list of regions with a population exceeding 1 million.
“Currently, Syrdarya is the only region in Uzbekistan with a population of less than a million. It has 856,900 permanent residents,” the report reads.
